i have signed a finance agreement at a car sales office can i cancel the agreement within 7 days

Quite often if it's signed on their premises it's NOT cancellable as you have the option of getting up and walking out.
Check to see if your agreement is covered by the Consumer Credit Act

If it's for a car, It'd have to be �25K or under to be covered I believe.

Most credit agreements are signed "on-premises" - which means that you normally have no right to cancel. If you signed at home then you would have a cancellation period - but you went to their premises to sign means that you usually can not cancel without incurring penalty charges.


Try talking to them and the finance company - you have not got a right to cancel - but if you have a good reason they may understand.
