If you can do the admin (which can be a bind) then running a 'hundred club' provides a regular income stream throughout the year.
How about setting a quiz they always go down well
Cupcakes, with the charity logo on?
Woman next door sells those at 6 for £9.
Mostly at craft fairs, and school fairs.

Thank you for your suggestions so far. Please keep them coming! x
6 cupcakes for £9??? I'm amazed she sells any...
£1.50 a pop is extortionate, I would just about buy 6 home made cupcakes for £1.50 (but don't buy homemade cake, never sure just what state the home they were made in is like).
Depends on the sort of charity it is, but there are loads of funding organisations looking to donate money to worthy causes, particularly if they benefit certain sectors of the community. Your local town council, or the County Council website, is a good place to start, particularly if you want to fund projects rather than running costs.

We run a bi-monthly quiz, we charge £2.50 a head and people bring their own food and drink, and we have a tombola during the event as well. Make sure that if you are running raffles rather than tombolas, you have the appropriate licence....
What sort of charity is it? I only ask as it might be supported by different sorts of people depending on the cause (and therefore you could try to tailor your money making ideas to the type of people who would be more likely to support it).
GM.....We ask local schools to collect tins and packets at Harvest Festival for us to sell at bargain prices for our charity. That's one of our biggest fund raisers.

Once a year we have a quiz walk in a Northamptonshire village and finish up in the pub.

We also run a frequent paper quiz selling for £1 a sheet.

We often have talks with wine and refreshments....Eric Morcambe's daughter gives a fantastic talk about her dad.
We organised a fun day for a local sick little girl. Bar for parents, bouncy castles, football, skipping competition etc. There was some outlay first, but hundreds of people turned up.
Do you have a local drama group or youth theatre in your area? You could ask them to put on a show in aid of your charity.
Could you hold a boot fair? If you have access to a field or a rec, sell pitches and have a few stalls yourselves. Best to wait for the nicer weather of course, but plenty of time to plan.
