Unless you have 'loadsamoney', having a punt on the film or best actor is not a viable prospect. The film is 1/4 to win, with Chiwetel Ejiofor 8/15. That's with Willy Hill and i dare say that the others won't be much different.

Begging your pardon(s), those were the Oscar prices i gave you. The Bafta prices are 2/7 and 1/7 respectively. Even less of a viable proposition - not prospect. (Bit too early for me after a heavy weekend)

There are definitely parts which are wince-inducingly difficult to watch. But weirdly, it's quite a beautiful film. I don't know whether you're familiar with Terrence Malik, but there are a number of scenes in the film which remind me of his work.

Great acting from all involved - especially Michael Fassbender, who is note perfect (again).
thanks. sp1814. A while since I saw a Malick film but I understand what you mean.
I haven't seen the movie, but I've heard nothing but excellent reviews of it. It would appear the accolades are well deserved.

On the contrary Aog, you failed to return my Xmas greeting from the "Christmas Time On The News Section" thread.

Aog, very remiss of me, I almost forgot to thank you for the generosity you displayed @ 15:06.
However I think it would be unfair to use one of the treasured images from what is obviously your own Family Album so have chosen one of my own. ps, Happy Christmas you old git!

In the context of an awards ceremony in which no film dominated, getting 1/7 is probably a good return. We'll have to wait for the Baftas and Oscars to see how it does there.

//And don't all news outlets make space to wish their readers festive greetings//

Normally done by the Owners/Editors
Is there something we should know?
AOG, I think where these things are concerned, a nomination in itself is considered to be something of an accolade.

I think you will find that the American Hustle fared much better coming top with three awards out of seven nominations
I think you will find that people starting sentences that way sound like pretentious G's.
I suspect - as I have already said - that aog is right and American Hustle will take Best Film at the Oscars. Daniel Day-Lewis was best actor last year for Lincoln's role in ending slavery. Voters may want something less serious for a change.

But I could be wrong, so don't put your money where my mouth is.
/Not looking good, only won one out of seven nominations in the Golden Globe Awards. /

Yes aog

just the one -

For BEST FILM!
