I attend Yoga classes & we do a couple of good balancing exercises. Here's just one of them!

Another helpful Yoga balancing site for you: Here

T'ai Chi is very good for improving your balance, and it's slow and relaxing. Might be worth checking out a local class. Once you get the hang of it, even if you don't want to continue at the class, nothing stopping you using some of the basic movements for some home exercise. Simple, slow, easy, relaxing. Gives you a new understanding of your body and how it works and a sensitivity that naturally increases your balance and agility.
tinkertontom, if you are in UK you might be interested in www.extend.org.uk They run exercise classes for "older citizens" dealing with all aspects, including balance. It's great fun, and I know it has done me a lot of good, and I'm getting on a bit too!

Looks good pugwash - I'll keep that one in mind when Yoga gets too much for me!

P.S. We do have people of all ages in our class tinker, including people who are getting on a bit.

Every time, and I mean every time, you put your shoes on stand on one leg while you do it, you will soon get rid of the bruises!
