Yes, I had a sort of argument with a lot of Americans online about it yesterday. They insisted that we were wrong and that it was last month because they put month/day/year in their date format.

Beat me to it zacs.
To avoid any confusion, I think that the date should be written in a standard format of descending order: year, month, day. Just as we do with time: hours, minutes, seconds.
Just looked out my window, the space ship is ready to land.
