My question is one that makes JWs very uncomfortable especially when the underlying philosophy is pointed out as one used time and time again in the history of humans justifying invasion and genocide.
Firstly the targeted population is vilified. In the case of the Hebrew massacres the victims were accused of not following Yhw's laws. The women are depicted as "all indulging in prostitution". (Of course they were prostitutes because, not being Hebrews, they had sex with men whom they had not married under Hebrew law.) Then they are depicted as a threat to righteousness such that the only thing a decent person could do would be to kill them.
The Nazis used exactly the same strategy. Rwandans got even closer to the Biblical model as they hacked their targets to death emulating the way the invading Hebrews "put every man woman and child to the sword".
The final part of the model is the Godly justification. God commanded us to kill them and He gave us their land and wealth.
What is portrayed as a guide to leading a proper life is really the justification and exaltation of the worst of human's animal desires to take resources. The Hebrews not only pillaged and burned, they put the gold, silver and precious items into the Arc of the Covenant and treated it like an item of worship.
The faithful cannot counter this reality. Consequently we see goodlife completely avoid the question.

"Helping transform the earth into a paradise." The main difference between now and post-Armageddon paradise is the deaths of those who don't subscribe to the doctrine. Helping no doubt involves doing God's work slaughtering them in the great Hebrew tradition.

Yes Yhw got annoyed with Joshua and his followers and punished them severely. They hadn't killed all the tribes living in the Promised Land like they had been told.
Two tribes tricked the Hebrews into a peace treaty by pretending they came form outside the Promised Land. Fancy that, they wanted peace when they were supposed to be killed!
