The Great Gatsby was a confusing read, but I was 18, the film was visually beautiful and slow, but I was 19 and loved Robert Redford for a while. And Brad Dillman cos he had just been in The Virginian.

Jane Eyre with Orson Welles was it? Classic. Hollywood does Yorkshire.

Actually Brad Dillman was in The Way we Were but I still thought he was cool, the "best" scene on the boat is my favourite.

worst - bridget jones.  The book made me laugh out loud - bridget and her family and friends were funny and believable and even my boyf laughed at the bits I read out.  The films were stupid - terrible casting of renee whats-er-face.  And in the 2nd one its very hard to beleive that someone as stupid and scruffy as the bridget in the film would have two men fighting over her!

oh, and the beach - awful.

best? i personally liked high fidelity, and about a boy.  Thought they captured the spirit of the book well.  There's another one I really like too but can't think what it is.. i was talking about it the other day too! How annoying - will get back to you!

I really think Rosemarys Baby was a verry good apaptation and def.OFOTCN

I'd agree with Glossop that To Kill a Mocking Bird is a truly great film. My only disappointment is that the film doesn't cover Jem and Scout's relationship with Mrs DuBois (sorry if this is the wrong name, I'm writing this from memory) and how they unknowingly help cure her of her morphine addiction before she dies.

But perhaps that's just me being morbid?
