Do you live alone? If you do, do you hate it or do you enjoy your own company?

I've been on my own for about 8 years now,and while its *mostly* OK...doing what I want when I want...its getting increasingly difficult. I'm reluctant to tackle decorating, etc on my own. I worry about over taxing myself,as I feel I need to conserve energy for the three days I still work. Much as I look forward to ,my days off- I dread retirement as work gives me a focus. My daughter is not nearby, and other family is across the Atlantic. I do feel quite isolated sometimes...especially when I need a shoulder to moan on.
There is a world of difference between being seperated from a loved one for a short period and being seperated forever. To always come home to an empty house and always feeling like a spare part when out with friends so that you don't want to go out anymore.
I would advise anyone who loses a partner when young not to spend the rest of your life grieving, it's a lonely life on your own. We all need someone.
I have a friend who says the worst thing about living on his own is, coming back into the house and the mug he left on the coffee table is still there, :(
Myself and Mr puss live on our own together, and at times i pray for some space apart, and get stuck in a good book or other stuff.
Very rarely he leaves the house without me, and when he does, I'm watching the clock for he's return! He's into steam R/way, so it isnt too often.
Would be lost without him.
Pusskin of course you would - and that is the difference, when together for many years and then alone - the lost feeling.

It does change and if you are very very lucky, as I am things can take an unexpected turn and you find some new happiness.
Really glad for you mamy that you have found that happiness again!
Thats fantastic x
Loneliness must be a terrible thing, and hey, you can still feel lonely with a hubbie even when the kids have left home and dont live nearbye to visit you often.x
