Ok, not the first tunnel, they have been on the South coast for hundreds of years. But this is one mega tunnel that must have taken a massive investment.

Eigth one since 2006 they have found, so how many more must there be?

Wouldn't like to be in the shoes of the the person that grassed them up today !

getting drugs into the US is a huge business, so I guess they're happy to spend money to make money.

Of coure it might have been dug as a tourist route for Americans wanting to visit Tijuana.

More likely to traffic people into the US as well as drugs I would imagine.

The US has a big problem with wetbacks.
that's possible. I don't know why they closed the place down rather than just sitting at the end grabbing everyone who came through.

Perhaps they did for a while until they stopped coming.

They should have just redirected it so it did a u-turn back to Mexico. Confuse the hell out of the smugglers.
You'd have thought the US customs people would have noticed a lot of Mexicans walking about shaking dirt out of their trouser legs
^ I don't think that's anything out of the ordinary jake.

I believe it was the ones wandering around in WW2 german uniforms that first aroused suspicions.
Apparently it's no that old. What I'm wondering is how did they come across it now when it is just getting used for transport but no one noticed it when they were digging the thing out?
