Simple Phones Wanted

I have a pair of cordless phones and would like to find a simpler kind. All I need is to receive and make personal phone calls. Apart from that the BT services on 1471 and 1571 would be quite sufficient for my purposes.

I have spent ages trying to delete an entry from the so-called phone book. The 38 page instruction book says Press MENU; Select [PHONEBOOK] > [DELETE] then press OK to confirm......... I have pressed MENU many times and found PHONEBOOK but cannot find DELETE to progress any further. Does anyone else have this problem? Oh - for something simple!

If you tell us the make and model of your phones, Coldicote, we might be able to tell you what you're doing wrong.
After finding phonebook select entry you wish to delete...you will probably be offered an options ...select... scroll to delete !
I know this is for the elderly, but these are perfect for you:

1571 and 1471 are BT services, not phone features, so if you already get them with any phone, you still will.
I hope this helps.
From January BT will be charging £1.75 per month for their 1571 service.

Thank you for your answers. My phones are by Phillips, Model CD170DUO. i've had them for several years but not previously tried to delete an entry from the phone book. On this occasion the listed person has died.
Well I'm trying to understand the instruction manual without the phone in front of me (so I might have got it totally wrong) but here goes anyway:

Press 'Menu'
Use the up and down arrows to scroll to 'Phonebook'.
Press 'OK'
Use the up and down arrows to scroll to 'Delete'.
Press 'OK'.
Use the up and down arrows to scroll to the relevant entry.
Press 'OK' to see a confirmation request.
Press 'OK' again.

Buenchico, I didn't do enough scrolling and clicking of OK. You put me on the right track and I achieved the objective. What would AnswerBank do without you? Very many thanks.
