I nipped a piece of sage from a plant in our community herb garden. If I put it in ordinary potting compost, will it root?

Thank you, Frank. It looks like I can just stick it in some compost and it will probably take.

I've planted it. Wish me luck.
Put it in a glass of water on a light window cill...... it will make 'roots' within a few days/week or so. Then pot it in compost. Have done this innumerable times and supplied our local school fete/church fete etc. And re-supplied my own plants. Good luck!
Good Luck!!
