Apart from yourself, what is the oldest thing that you have in your home? Mine would be a treadle-style sewing machine which I am dating at 1869. It could be quite a few years older than that because in 1869 the company made a slight change to the design of the treadle, and mind doesn't have that change. Anyway, it's at least 144 years old. I have some really, really old coins; however, I'm not counting those as they don't have any "use".

I have lots of old jewellery. Beautiful glass necklaces and some gorgeous brooches. I adore them. I also have lots and lots and lots of old china (cups, saucers plates etc). I buy and sell it so I tend to hang to a lot of it, then when I'm fed up of it I change it! My favourite thing though is our Art Deco carved chifonier. I probably paid far too much money for it but would happily have paid more. I adore it.
My grandfather's Military Medal 1917 - "For Bravery In The Field" He was killed a week after he was awarded it.
That's a wonderful keepsake to have ,Wharton-just so sad that he didn't survive the war.
Thanks quinie.
I have a fifteen year old floppy disk, with the first story I ever penned. I can still get into it, too,

My dads accordion, it's in the loft and I don't know what to do with it. It's about 80 years old.

Caran, learn how to play it, if you already don't, and all we oldies will participate in an Antique Night sitting around an old watchman's coke fire belting out, whilst drinking and yes smoking, such favourites as "Knees Up Mother Brown", "Maisy Doats and Dozy Doats", and "It's a Long Way To Tip a Canary:...Cheers:)
Have a clock here that was made c 1665. Still works. Keeps reasonable time, too.
