I`m getting the following error message when starting up my Vaio - C/Windows/system32/*********.dll - any ideas what it is/ how to safely remove or cure it

Did you star the dll name out or was it the profanity check? If the latter then get a decent spayware removal tool and run it. If the former then please give the full file name.

Yep, sounds like spyware to me. Get a removal tool like adaware.
