I think your best choice would be to approach a bar directly and ask. My Cousin recently got a job in a Bar and she had no previous experience.

Good luck with the job hunt

Blag it! after your first shift your'l know if you can do it or not any good bar manager will show you the ropes first whether you've been doing it for ten years or ten mins

Keep your eye open for work in smaller local bars, where it's easier to get a start and it's not so busy. You can learn the ropes quickly (aside from pouring pints it's mostly gift of the gab!) and then apply for jobs in more flashy joints where you'll be under more pressure.

thanks a lot. anyone else got any other tips?
Dont lie. Go to your nearest main chain pub like weatherspoons or yates and they will give you what you need to start with, then you can move on somewhere a bit cooler when you have learnt the basics. I used to be a publican and experience with my staff was never an issue.
