Is it possible to record sky programmes using a Sony DVD recordable dvd player. I have tried every which way I can to set it up. Followed the diagram to connect your player to sky but cann't set up.Am I just being thick or trying the impossible?

You can record using a vcr so i would have thought that this should also work with dvd recorders.

this wont work of course if you are trying to record sky box office movies.

I can, on a Panasonic. It comes through on my AV2 channel if that's any help. Had so much trouble setting it up myself I got an "expert" to come out. He couldn't follow the instructions either and just followed his own idea. He needed another scart lead to what the instructios said.

Hope this helps - means you aren't thick

~Thank you Mattk and Yorky Lass. Think I will take your advice and get an expert in, before I go bald tearing my hair out.
Connect your TV to the Sky box Scart that says TV. Now connect your DVD recorder to the other Scart on the Sky box. Note which AV socket on the DVD recorder you've used (usually AV1 or AV2). Now switch your DVD recorder to that AV channel. You should then be able to record Sky.
