Inspired by a suggestion from Ann86.

Do you have any photos you've taken and would like to post here?
They could be from a basic 'point n shoot', a high falutin' DSLR or a scan from a pic taken on an old film camera or maybe just something you snapped on your phone.
Maybe you could give a short account of the circumstances eg. where/why it was taken, what memory/feeling it holds for you.

Nice one Anne - where is it? I went on the Settle to Carlisle a few years ago - that was a great, the longest steam train journey I've ever done.
Thanks Prudie - that's a great atmospheric pic, lovely colours.

Ok. sorry I neglected a significant chunk of this thread.
To answer Mick Talbot's suggestion of an assignment, how about this:

"Everyday Objects or Scenes That Have Faces In Them".

It could be a heap of folded towels, a curtain, a reflection on a window, a deliberately arranged heap of stuff, something revealed ina bit of sliced fruit ...whatever, get creative, and don't forget: posh DSLR, crappy phone camera, iphone, scan etc. it all counts!

(My one is on the way - give me about 15 min)

hello Ann, like the train Oliver Cromwell if I remember rightly. As you say it brings back memories. There's a pub a few miles from us right at the side of the east coast main line and in the summer the bear garden would be full of people with their kids watching the streamers go by. These modern locos just dont have the same attraction
That of should be beer garden, though a bear might have been an attraction as well.

Hey what happened to this thread?!
In a determined attempt to re-kindle it, here's a photo of my housemate's pussy :-)
This was taken using my Helios 44-2 that Eddie51 kindly recommended, note the odd swirly background blur.

Nice, I like the colour variation. Are they for egg production or are they destined for the tikka massala? (I hope the former!)
