i rarely post in this section but i need some help please,my sister is in her 40s she found a lump in her breast which turned out to be benign,however the hospital found another lump which after biopsy turned out to ''active''..without meaning to sound stupid what does ''active'' mean?? is this a bad sign??thanks in advance for any answers...

"Active" is not a medical terminology for a breast lump.
Nothing can be determined from that description.

Just a thought but could they mean the lump moves like breast "mice"?

hi squd i was hoping you might see my post,i think they have had a biopsy of the second lump and found active cells i just wondered what that term meant?thanks..will check that out in a sec eve..thanks pssybo i will pass your best wises on to my sister x

stoke........what you need to know is if the fluid from the biopsy showed "malignant" cells.

To me, "active" sounds like something that is hormone responsive. I`m no expert though.
