I am on contract with my phone and will soon be getting an upgrade. This means my phone is no longer used and I'd like to sell it on ebay. I've looked and some say locked or unlocked..how do I sell my phone? My phone has t-mobile on it...does that mean you can only buy the phone if you intend to subscribe with t-mobile?

get someone who has another network to try their sim card in your phone .. if it works it is unlocked, if it dosent it is locked to tmobile (tmobile do this a lot) How much do you think you will get for your phone? I obnly ask because if it's not much then when you get a contract they will usually give yoy 20 quid credit for sending your old phone+charger+manual to them
Usually a contract phone will be locked to whoever provided it so chances are that your phone will be locked to T-Mobile. You can get phones unlocked no problem at all, my last one cost a tenner to unlock but you can probably get it done cheaper if you shop around. Try mobile phone stalls in markets and small independant mobile phone shops.
if you look on the web you will probably be able to get an unlock code for your phone for free -- I did this with a Nokia which was locked to T-Mobile
