I read a book over 21 years ago about the Vietnam war and have long since forgotten the author and exact title. Recalling the latter is near impossible because it was three numbers (eg. 5 12 11) which referred to the number of wounded (serious and less so) and dead US army personnel on board the 'copter coming in to land at the field hospital.

I'd like to read it again - can anyone help me?

I fully agree with the previous answer - WE WERE SOLDIERS ONCE AND YOUNG is really a great book
