No from me too. When my daughter was at school she came home begging to go skiing in the Dolomites with the school, (back in the 80's) it was around £400 plus buying all the ski-wear and hire of said skis at the site. I managed it for two years running, it was a bit of a stretch, but something I'd never been able to do myself. She enjoyed it, had her necklace stolen, soap came back still in it's wrapping, and her arm in pot after second years holiday.
I'm confident on paper, I'm confident acting but to meet me I'm actually quite quiet.lol
Mallom Cove and Ingleborough Caves
and a trip on the mersey on a ferry

sum total of the school trips i went on tut and that was a grammar school.
We went to Coventry Cathedral the year it opened, early 1960s - that was my lot.
Coventry Catherdral eh? We had 2 to visit in nearby liverpool and didn;t get to either!
I went on a day trip to Thorpe Park, that was the sum total of any trips in 7 years at my secondary school.

Its disappointing that this thread is sullied with so much triviality on who said what to whom about how old they are.
It's a bit more than that Octavius.

Anyway...I went on loads of day trips and holidays. Longtown, Frontier camp, PGL, France, Germany. We also got to go to Coventry Cathedral :-)
I'm not of a mind to care that much Ummm, 107 posts and only 10 - 15 refer to the actual question.

You were spoilt then, must have been a very priveleged young lady!! I think in my case it was partly because the teachers could think of nothing worse than spending any more than a day at a time with us.

Still, even today in my flushed prime of comfortable living and sufficient means, I would still not pay that for one of my daughters to go on a school trip. More out of principal than anything else. As a teenager she will hate me anyway.
Not really privileged as such. My granddad paid for most of them. We had great times though.
