I was just watching urban jungle, and when they did the moth bit, it so reminded me of a 3 night school trip to juniper hall, I could have only been about ten, but remember it as though it was yesterday, setting up all the moth traps putting in news paper and cardboard, I can not believe this place is still going 30 years later and still educating school kids, what trips do you remember, I also remember going to devils bridge, havent a clue where it is, but the weather was warm and the teachers let us call off in a lake, we loved into until we realised there were slugs attached to us, 30 kids screaming there heads off we were covered in leaches.

Devil's bridge is close to Aberystwyth and the lake you swam in would have been one of the elan valley reservoirs built to supply Birmingham. Swimming strictly forbidden now!

Happy days tony, but I've no doubt that a lot of people considered us to be nothing but a bunch of juvenile delinquents, even though most of us have turned out to be fine upstanding citizens.
Very true, paddywak.
Permission to phone home each evening from a public call box.
Right outside the pub!

How very convenient Daisy !. lol
Didn't go on any school trips, we couldn't afford them but did go to Guide camp
every year. We lived for the week in bell tents, dug latrines and cooked outdoors. Remember we once gave the tent next door laxative chewing gum but can't remember if it worked that well.
Day trips to France and Belgium in secondary school, getting pissed on the coach, rigging the fruit machines on the ferry and smuggling back flick knives and those little bangers which were basically mini sticks of dynamite.
Had an offie attached as well! Rubbish bins in the car park. Great for getting rid of any evidence if we had imbibed.
Even more convenient then, Daisy.
Definitely Tony.
A great week, fondly remembered. Excellent accommodation. Good food, lovely surroundings, fine weather, interesting teachers and evening freedom.
Learned a lot as well.
Excellent trip then Daisy.

For two years on the trot we had a week ( usually just before Whitsun ) at sailing camp, great fun that was and learned how to sail various classes of dingy's.
Brilliant Tony. Would have enjoyed that. Do you still sail?
The sailing camp was at Chase Water Daisy, bet you know it.
No haven't sailed for a few years now, last time was in Ibiza.
Various - from trips to Man Uni(versity) Library to the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, to Turkey (part sponsored by the likes of the Royal Geog Soc) to Italy (Arts). It was on this one that the 'Mistress' went knickerless..........much to our fascination and amusement, though she didn't have the "jungle" of the locals as we were exposed to that as well.
Probably rather warmer in Ibiza!
Certainly was, Daisy.
