For about the last six weeks, I have noticed a lump on my finger. It is on my forefinger on the first joint (ie the first joint above the finger nail). The lump is on the middle finger side (if this makes sense). It is a hard lump and not moveable. It is red. You can clearly see it but it doesn't hurt. Feels a lot bigger than it looks.
I've suffered with various aches and pain in this hand for years (mostly WRULD type things, but nothing in the fingers).
Any ideas what it is? because it doesn't hurt I wasn't inclined to do much about it.
I was thinking more of the tophi part of gout where there is a build up on stuff in a lump. Sounds like you have never had a gout attack before though so less likely.
Well..I've got them in several finger joints .But I have severe OA.
Mine started in one joint and over the years I now have knobbly fingers:)
It may not be that though .Mention it to the doctor if you have cause to visit sometime .
I'm the same BM. I've not been with my hands. If they work and don't give me pain, I can put up with it.. Just don't worry about it,until and,IF it starts to pain you.
