In the Film 6th day their is some for of Jet/helicopter hybrid. What are they called and are they possible?

In the film they're called Whispercraft. As for whether they're possible, theoretically they could be, but I think there might be a problem with the difference in shape and function of airplane wings vs helicopter blades. The concept was perportedly taken from an actual military prototype in development at the time (http://www.starshipmodeler.com/tech/othr_ref.htm) although I'm somewhat sceptical about that!
