Hi I have just been clocked doing 71mph in a temporary 40mph motorway section . Will I get an automatic ban?

depends on your licence, i.e have you already got points/convictions etc on it.


you should get away with a fixed pen ticket or you could always argue the signs that were present saying 40 if there were enought of them, do they meet uk motor regulation signage standards etc.


seen a case in past were a female was clocked doing 55 in a 40 temp on motorway. she argued the signs displaying were not to uk standards plus workmen were moving these on a daily basis. if your going to do this then be prepared for a good legal battle and risking paying more and possibly getting points etc.
