Rub ice cubes around the area to reduce the swelling then smear with some sort of lubrication to try and ease the rings off.
Olive oil, massage in round the ring, but hold finger in air so blood goes back to hand and not to fingertiP? Put her hand in iced water for a while, the finger will shrink a little? If not, she may have to get them cut off.
she needs to chill her hand, which will shrink it slightly

and then perhaps some grease or butter might help
Eventually I had to get mine cut off, but before that Washing up liquid worked
Ice to reduce the swelling then some washing up liquid on the finger. Move the ring up the finger then ease the skin back towards the hand. Hope that works for her.

thank's for all your tip's will pass them on
I had this problem when i was pregnant, and eventually had to have them cut off at the jewellers (i tried the things mentioned above but with no luck) If it's something that's temporary, then she might be better off just waiting, if not and the above don't work, get to the jewellers. If she knows which part of the ring the hallmark is on, that would be better, so they don't cut through it.
As a very annoying aside (and i apologise profusely in advance, but i just can't help myself) you don't need ANY apostrophes in your post. Please please don't be cross with me, i literally can't help myself :)
thread cotton taape under the ring hold one end and bind the rest up her finger in a spiral. pull the end you were holding and the ring should move up the spiralled tape
that's a fascinating suggestion, rowan, I must try that!
Thanks bednobs ;-)

Had to have my ring cut off at hospital once due to a pyogenic granuloma on my finger -where's Sqad? Haven't checked spelling of that!
do you mean you wanted to say the same thing yoga?
I had mine done at the jewellers, they cut 'em off & while I was there had them enlarged another 2 sizes. That was 10 years ago & they're very comfy now.

jem
its the method we used a lot in hospital... my grandad taught me though he was a jeweler Wrapping the finger tightly in cling film, greasing it well and rocking the ring while pulling the skin tight towards the hand can also work
