Sensitivity to cold temperatures
Having read the question about sensing relative increases in temperature, at what temperature minus C, or Kelvin does the human body cease to feel a difference in 'coldness'?
My lowest experienced temperature was -17 celcius, which wasn't too bad, but having read about troops working in -55 to -60 ceclius in Russia during WWII, I wondered is there a difference in sensation, before the frostbite sets in.

I think it also depends on whether it's a dry cold or a wet cold if that makes sense? It was -17C last week and the coldest I've experienced was -22C at 7:30am on the way to work last year. I can only describe that as my first breath outside was taken away and then my nostril hairs froze up and pricked the inside of my nose! lol
I guess the lower the temperature is the more the body has to provide warmth and therefore it expends it must faster than at a warmer temperature. If you're dry maybe it takes over several hours, but if wet then maybe an hour or two?
BTW What type of Panzerkampfwagon "Ausf-A"? That's if it is related!

I live in Finland and here the sea is frozen over , we had -31 two years ago in Helsinki but it is a dry cold so if you are moving and dressed properly it is bearable . I heard that it was -50 in the north of Finland and someone threw a small pan of boiling water up in the air ( outside ) and it came down as snow . Also whilst we are the subject there are many times a year reports of children riding cycles without a helmet and their brain freezes to the front of their skull and they get brain damaged , on the lighter side many young children despite advice to the contrary lick the door knob and end up frozen tongued and you can't just wait for it to melt because at those temps. it doesn't
