Had to wait a few hours in a hospital yesterday while my son was treated.
There were a few copies of 'The Oldie' magazine in the waiting area, I read them and for the first time in years actually laughed out loud. It is VERY funny . I am going to take out a subscription , any one else on AB a reader ? It would suit a lot of the 'regulars' on here.

where can you buy it Eddie - is it subscription only? I can't think that I've seen it in the shops.

I was hopeing someone would know, I can't remember it in the shops.
It is like a Vintage 'Private Eye'
There is a subscription site with a special offer of 3 issues for £3 as a 'starter' that is what I have ordered. It is monthly and full price is £3.75 an issue.
I'm still of Private Eye vintage I'm afraid, but it's nice to know there's a Radio 2 to my Radio 1.
Yes, I'm a subscriber, and find it entertaining (and nostalgic).

It is available in shops.
If you speak to your newsagent, they will stock it for you. A friend used to get it that way.
Yes Eddie, I take it, by subscription. It's interesting.
I know I've seen it in WH Smiths...but I've not bought it - yet.

Now i'm getting an AB advert for the 3 issues for £3 offer.
I'm a subscriber to The Oldie; it's a natural successor to (and very similar in many ways to) good old Punch.

It's sold in larger branches of W H Smith, together with railway bookstalls and hospital newsagents.

Hi Chris , do you have the link to the refurbished lap tops you posted a while back ? mine is on it's last legs.
As long as you're happy to use it via the charger, it seems a good deal. Otherwise a new battery will add quite a bit to the cost:

The laptop I'm typing this on has a roughly similar specification (and also has a nearly useless battery). I paid £60 for it at auction.
