Can anybody tell me how to keep a house smelling fresh, when you have a dog and two cats.? I'd like to use natural products and not chemicals. Thanks.

I always use scented candles or oils....i know, they're technically chemicals but we have kids, 2 smelly springer spaniels that love the mud and a cat.

The candles work a treat....i have spiced apple and cinnamon on at the mo from Tesco !!!

It will be tough if you have carpet and fabric furnature and the animals are allowed to be on them.

I know it's doable though, if you keep your pets really clean and you vacuum everyday with a hepafiltered vacuum or one that uses water. Either that or change your vacuum cleaner bag once a week.

It takes work and a little more expense in electricity and vacuum cleaner bags.

i burn lemon grass aromatherapy oil makes the house smell lovely.
On "how clean is your house" they put essential oils onto a light bulb, and when the light was on it warmed the oil and released the scent. Not tried it myself yet but it sounds good!
mojo_b49 thats exaclty what i do works wonders with the smelly labrador stench.
what a great tip with the light bulb!!!
how about trying lavender? its strong & smells lovely
I use scented candles, vacuum a couple times a week (including furniture) and the Fabreze spray works wonders (very fresh smelling). I have 4 dogs and 3 cats and everyone is amazed how the house never shows it or smells like it. I do keep the larger dogs in the garage at night which helps also.
