Anyone got any suggestions on how to get rid of the smell of paint. My daughter has just had her wooden floors varnished and the smell is overpowering. They are on holidays at the moment so I can't leave her windows opened. Has anyone any other suggestions as to what I could try?
I would like the house to be fresh smelling for her when she returns home.

cut an onion in half and peel it.put it in the room on a plate, you will be amazed!
Apparently a bowl of water placed in the room also works to eliminate the smell.
Also a bucket full of straw ( animal bedding from pet store ) in centre of floor.

a cut lemon is supposed to work too
The daughter will come home and find there front room looking like a freshly varnished cross between a manger and a greengrocers at this rate.
I remember a friend telling me that a sliced onion completely removed the strong polyurethane smell from a new memory foam mattress topping .
