Just googled it, apparently the best alternatives are - pinto beans, refried beans, kidney beans, lentils, black turtle beans, black eyed peas, in that order.

Thanks all. No pinto, no mung and definitely no black turtle beans, I went for a mix of lentils and black eyed peas in the end. Fingers crossed.
