I have listened to some of the 2nd part of Oprah's interview. He has been a liar and a cheat for years. He is guilty of perjury and has put everybody who tried to expose him over the years through absolute hell.

But now he says that he should be allowed to compete AGAIN. What planet does he think he lives on ?

Oprah should have got up from her chair at that point and given him a good slap !

I am sure John Humphrys would have been a far better interviewer. Putting Armstrong in front of Oprah was like asking Judith Charmers to conduct the interview.

I don't see the point in Oprah.

Or Dale Winton come to that.

Am I missing something, that everyone else can see ?
"But now he says that he should be allowed to compete AGAIN. What planet does he think he lives on ?"

He lives on plane Yoo-ess-ay where anyone, if they can front up long enough, can be rehabilitated by shows like Oprah.
It seems to be a lot like training a pet, repeat often enough and the viewing public eventally get it and are very pleased with themselves.
I think the International Cycling organisation might have something to say about that.
He should crawl under a rock and stay there till he dies. It's the people who missed out on winning who have suffered most and the dis reputation and mistrust he has brought on the sport which he doesn't seem to 'get'.
UK athletes who had earlier taken drugs to improve their performance were allowed to compete in the Olympics.
But two wrongs don't make a right. They should have had life bans and so should Armstrong.
The interview must have been a real scoop for Oprah. Armstrong was hardly going to pick someone who was going to haul him over the coals.
He's a lyiing, thieving cheating snot-rag who should be on trial for perjury at the very least and found guilty and have his assets seized under 'proceeds of crime' if the USA have a similar law. Then he should be extradited to France.
Extradited to France ah wench !, gawd that's harsh lol.
not harsh enough our kid :-)
he probably picked Oprah because she offered the most money for the interview.

Oprah appears to be the joker in the pack here. She is clearly being used by Armstrong. The interview has hardly added to Oprah's reputation.

She must be a very wealthy woman by now. Why does she allow herself to be made a fool of ?

If Osama Bin Laden was still alive I am sure Oprah would be trying to get an interview.

Ignore her and she might just go away !
It smacks of stage-managed, damage-limitation insincerity, like Tigers Woods 'apology' a few years ago
Oprah will always go after the interviews that "others would kill for" and always has done. Its not about money its about her manipulation and power within the media.
Armstrong wants his lifetime ban lifted

Hey, let's let Ben Johnson back in too huh?
That's exactly what it is. Ophra's no Paxmann. If the Americans have their own version of him nobody but a fool would voluntarily be interrogated by the best.
@Zacs-Master...did you know they would have [in general had to go down the list to 8th place to find a cyclist that hadn't improved their performance with drugs!

As for Lance Armstrong... a vile odious little man who played on the sympathy of others whilst suffering cancer... I feel so sorry for all those who had placed him on the pedestal it looked like he so rightly deserved. There are so many others out there that really do battle the odds!
And don't get me started on the way he has treated those who knew what he was doing! I know I for one would be suing the ass off of him!

Agree with every word but it was great entertainment watching him win the TDF those 7 years. The French were well on to him- or was that just national disgust at a perfidious Yank doing so well ?
