answer is British place name but no clue to number of letters.


Just remembered this has to be in soon and it is not finished.Many thanks for any help.


Do not understand this so called logical route across country!

The answer appears to Billingate (the fish market)


Billing (sending account) + at + e (end of June)


It's a place and has the "bill" to link with a bird (beak)

The fish market is Billingsgate, and I can't see where you'd get the S from.


There is a place on Merseyside called Billinge which would fit, though.

Gill I agree, you have made the right choice. I was thinking on the hoof as it were - and I hadn't seen the clue before. The key was to get Billing - so I wasn't too far away! Notice that I did try to use words that expressed an element of doubt. Well spotted CJP!
