Hi pentagon, what sort of food is dormers?(:)

I hope you might mean 'Dolmes'.? Sounds a bit like dormers if you say it while eating one, I suppose. Also called dolmades or dolmas.

Greek / Mediterranean dish of vine leaves stuffed with rice and meat. Heres an Arabic version with lamb in place of beef: http://www.arabicnews.com/recipes/Grape_Leaves.html

There are also versions from several other countries that use cabbage leaves in place of the grape/vine leaves, so you can try the version that suits your tastes best.

Recipe here: http://thefoody.com/mrsbmeat/dormers.html

Doesn't say what county they come from, but the recipe is from Mrs Beeton.

Narolines - good answer! Similar to the leek and lamb croquettes then (link: http://www.sheepscreek.com/recipes/leek_lamb.html ) which may be an original source as Jewish / Greek base - hence Mrs B's use of rice.

Also Turkish version called Ladies Thighs: http://www.free-recipes.co.uk/free-recipes/recipe-09234.asp which has the rice included.

I like the idea of Turkish Ladies' Thighs...........
Does seem a bit more appealing then being offered some sort of roofing option on your plate I admit!!
