My sister wants a divorce, she split from her husband years ago (amicably) but didnt bother to divorce him as they were still friends & neither had another partner.

Now she has met someone she wants to marry so obviously need to get they legalities sorted.

The children are adults & they dont own any properties so it really would be to free her to re marry.

How much should she expect to pay? She wont qualify for Legal Aid as she has a very good job.

Any pointers appreciated, she is the only person in our family to get a divorce, so dont have much experience in these matters.

I've really no idea since it's 20 years since I divorced - but I went to my local court and they gave me a form to fill in, so I could apply for a degree nisi. I filled it in then they sent it to my ex, so he could fill in his bit. They then wrote to say the nisi was granted, and a bit later they sent the second letter to say that the divorce was absolute. https://www.gov.uk/divorce/overview

This site suggests if you do it on-line, it costs £67 http://www.quickie-divorce.com/?gclid=CPyIwayx5rQCFePHtAodVWcAow
