...and realise how much of what I have is recycled/upcycled/bought on impulse/ auction/others' cast offs, and yet everyone seems to like it.
I don't think I have ever bought a 'suite' of furniture in my life.

The only 'new' item in my flat is my bed. The sofa-with feather cushions-is second-hand.(though I need a new one now). Other stuff -including pictures,pottery,etc, is from auctions(in the US when ex and I still lived there),antique shops,etc. My appliances are also second hand,as I could not afford new when I was first on my own.
I like knowing that all my things have a 'history'-and it's not just mine.
