Can anyone offer any pain relief techniques - I have now had this pain Since mid August, initially it lasted about 3 months and seemed to go completely, Monday it came back after a long car drive Sunday night, and its been excruciating, Ive had paracetamol, oodles of Ibuprofen, now on heat patches. Bending, lifting a leg, getting out of bed, turning over in bed, having a shower, even going to the loo hurts. I walk a lot around 3 miles everyday, however Im unable to walk these past few days and I have cabin fever !

The 'manual therapy' video might be particularly relevant.

Could you get to an osteopath? I saw one and he did great things for my lower back and SI pain.

Diclofenac might be stronger over the counter than ibuprofen though think you can only get it in small amounts. Voltarol do tablets with it in from behind the counter. Pricy but I've found them great in the past.

Maybe paracetamol and codeine?

With the heat patches, add a hot water bottle and maybe a nice relaxing bath with radox (the salts are good too) and dead sea salts and such.

Maybe some pain relieving gel? You can also get the gel with diclofenac in like Voltarol.

Did you have it checked out when you had it before? If you can get to a GP or walk in centre then they could prescribe some more effective pain relief if over the counter isn't cutting it.

Watch your tummy if you are taking lots of anti-inflammatories if it's delicate.

Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks to Chris and Jenna :)
I did see GP the first time I experienced the pain as I couldnt sit down for long without the pain and I have a desk job - I got relief laying down though! GP sent me for a pelvic xray which showed no abnormalities. I will try to get an app tomorrow with GP again.
