Why does my brand new printer keep telling me there is a paper jam when there isn't? I am only using one sheet at a time of 240gsm photo paper at a time. This is the very reason I got rid of my old one!
Thanks in anticipation

I'm guessing at that weight you need to let the printer know what to expect.

Usual copier paper is 80gsm, so for the extra thickness of photo paper it probably needs advance warning.

If you tell us the make and model of your printer someone on here will have a look at the manual for you and then tell you what to do. Alternatively, you could perhaps read the manual for yourself. If you haven't got a manual you should be able to download one in pdf form by typing the make and model into Google.
Are you sure there's not a tiny scrap of paper stuck in the roller?
As mentioned without any details of the printer it's a bit hard to comment...

But 240gsm is higher than a lot of printers will support, and on a lot of printers paper anywhere near that weight can only be used from certain paper trays/feed methods.
