Which denomination bank note did the Bank of England introduce in 1752 and withdraw in 1945?

A pure guess and stab in the dark - I would say the �1 note (even if the BoE introduced such a note!)

bank notes for the values �100, �500, and �1000 were introduced in 1833 and remained legal tender until 1945. The �1 note remained in circulation until the 1980's I believe when it was replaced with the nice shiny coins that we've got now
