Within twenty four hours, I have had two post completely removed.

This post is not about the removed ones but about the protocol of removing threads.

Will I be informed at some later stage as to why that happened or do I have to contact the Ed?

Yes Tilly,it's darned frustrating isn't it.
Starbuck? Seeing your thread removed infuriated me.
You'd put a clear warning at the top of your thread that should have deterred any delicate souls from clicking on.
When I posted there were 16 prior complimentry posts.
Was it No18 who took offence,or 25 or 50 perhaps.
Would the reportee like to identify themselves & educate us about our shortcomings.
Anyway, love your jokes, keep them coming.

I may be wrong but I don't think a thread is removed just because someone reported it- a report just triggers an alert and the Ed decides.
Mods can remove posts and threads too but may not want to get involved in justifying it because it could lead to a debate and Ed doesn't want those on this topic
Apologies Tilly, don't you think Factor has become so much more approachable, since he got involved in desktop's queries. I used to be in awe of hime in Crosswords anf Tilly, he is gorgeous

So does that mean that you can post anything offensive so long as you put a disclaimer on it? What bunkum!

I didn't see Starbucks joke, so can't comment on its contents, but my guess is it was posted knowing that it might offend some people, so why post it in the first place then? And saying some people have no sense of humour just because they didn't find it as funny as you and others is equally offensive.
oh, and I've no idea why Tilly's original post was removed either.
it wasn't me
You don't have to read it.

So no freedom of speech then.....well, welcome to the totalitarian state.
I've reported sibton for embarrassing me...
:-(

My post was completely innocuous.

It's the process I'm asking about here, not the reason why.
Sibton, factor has always been lovely. I remember him from my thread when I was having trouble with my Dad's care home fees. The only problem was, I thought he was a female. Got him mixed up with Anne. It was the sunshine that did it.

By the way, factor. Are you ready for tomorrow?
It's not sunny tomorrow, though.......
Agreed Tilly, all the best for tomorrow Factor xx
Yes thanks, tilly- as ready as I can be. I only got a call on Friday afternoon so I have no idea what classes/age groups I've got, but I know work may not have been set, so I've dug out various packs but I'll have to improvise.
Whats going on tomorrow then ?.
New job, tone
ahh yes it some's teaching work isn't it. Bon chance, mon ami
Ah right, good luck tomorrow factor.
Thanks- it's only a day or two for now, but having been away from the chalkface since July (apart from the odd half day) it seems strange and I'll be heading for bed soon to get a good night's sleep.
Boo,'I didn't see SBs joke so I can't comment'
You called my post bunkum & castigated SB for posting the joke.
As I know your one of the arbiters of good taste on here there's only one way this can go,so I'll be a good boy & keep my thoughts to myself.
