Can someone help please. I have filled out all of the grid and put the bars in. I am sure the missing member of the set is the letter U. Can someone explain what the theme word is from the unchecked letters. I cannot understand it.
You're right about the missing member of the set. For the theme word and the colouring just think about the phonetic alphabet (U for ?) and that word in a maritime context.
Hi Sue66
You have the correct set and the correct missing letter. Reading across your four unclued entries gives you the colours of something nautical and this will help you decide how to colour (or not) a neat area of surrounding cells. Reading down your unchecked letters will give you a maritime phrase for leading to a word for which that missing letter you found is the initial and also the recognised code letter at sea.
Hope this helps! I was all at sea for ages!!
Hi Sue,
It might make sense to you now, but I still cannot fathom the final step. I have the grid filled, the four "colours", the missing letter (U) and what it stands for, the phrase of six words, and I know what the flag looks like for the warning but that's as far as I go ! It would seem that the top left and bottom right squares should be completely coloured in a particular colour, but is that the solution ?
