When I was young, the black centre of remembrance poppies were stamped with 'Haigh Fund'.
Now they are stamped with 'Poppy Appeal'.
Does anyone know why they changed?

it's the same charitable fund just changed the name on the poppy, maybe to be clearer that it supports all vitims of armed conflict not just those from the first world war, though of course there are no WW1 veterans still alive now, the fund started in the 1920s
Possibly because Douglas Haig's generalship has been discredited in recent years. See "Lions led by Donkeys".

I suspect the reason for the change was after the death of Earl Haigh.
**And considering he died in 1928 maybe not...... he doesn't sound like a very nice man anyway. His wife seems to have been the one to organise the poppy making with ex-servicemen. At least the poppy for remembrance is still going strong and making money for all ex-servicemen.
