congrats fred - an unusual purchase. I'll have a look online in a sec......
Going to see my Mum at the care home and instead of being distressed, she was my Mum again...Just for the day. It was magic.
aarghhhh I'm under chuckers :)

(well, I suppose as long as he takes his glasses off, otherwise they'll steam up )
that is so unusual......

Are you interested in Roman history and artefacts?

One of the most amazing places that I have been is the old Roman ruins at Sabrathra, just out of Tripoli in Libya......

(worth googling images for Sabratha toilets as well as they are still in tact! The seats and the drainage channel down to the sea.............
DT, yes, I am interested in all antiquities, be they Roman, Egyptian or any other. But it's always the human interest, not the art, that appeals.

Example: The memorial is interesting , and touching, but Lucius's darling dog was called Metilianus. The plaque is from around 100 AD. At that time Metilius was the name of an important family in Roman politics; one Metilius was appointed governor of Britain in 94, for example. Lucius appears to have had a satirical sense of humour. He's called the dog what translates as ' kin to Metilius' or 'like a Metilius' !

Mazie, that's lovely xxx
Crikey, I can't see too many plaques to dogs named Cameronianus or Brunneis or Blairus Magna Os in nigh on 2000 years time!

It's a fun thing though!
Magic indeed Mazie. x
That was nice mazie......... I'm still trying to think of mine.
Oh,maizie, that's the best .(And certainly puts buying memorials to long dead dogs into perspective !)
just come back to this and want to say - how absolutely lovely for you mazie
what a special day.
seconded, mazie.....I am sure you will remember it.
