Am in a café in the centre of Truro and police have cordoned off the west end of the main street, apparently there is a strong indication that it is a bomb scare, the building being Nat West.

Why? Following the RBS debacle, they have no money in there after all.......

Are they sure it wasn't something from Ann Summers?
DT - Is that down the street from M&S and the cathedral and turn left into the wide street?
If it's a poo scare, can we be sure it wasn't despot?

come out of M and S, head up Lemon Quay, turn right into Lemon St (Michael Spiers jewellers and Jaeger and then it's Boscawen St that opens up on you, BHS to the left, the Coin Exchange on the right. It's cordoned off from Cathedral Lane across to Lloyds and I guess some 250 people there, mainly staff who had to exit pdq....couldn't even get bags or coats but then I would be out pdq too.
lol, we now have a list of suspects, i am not interrogating them....

(LIK :-P)

LIK - well, the incident is in Main Street so the police must be tailing him.
When I was a kid growing up in the RAF at the base that was home to Strike Command we used to have bomb scares all the time. Was horrible being woken in the middle of the night to have to dash in your PJ's to a meeting point.

They used to test the air raid sirens quite often too. That is a horribly haunting sound.

Well, I hope nobody bombs cornwall, my BIL is meant to be teaching me to surf next year.

After 3 hours, it turns out to be a camera wrapped up in a plastic box - and delivered in the mail to the Nat West mailroom. Who sends such an item to a bank? A client who has snapped?
Good grief, probably someone selling it on Ebay? but to the bank?? At least security was spot on ................
The police will have to make some enquiries and see what develops.
