You can buy various window cleaning products for inside and outside windows.

You can save money by using a good quality washing up liquid, it will not only make your windows spakle, it will kill off algea and keep condensation down too. That reminds me mine need doing, Thanks..

Ps Dont forget to get right into the corners, thats where most of the grime spreads from.

If yuo are not too good up ladders, check out local adds for window cleaners..

I would never make a living as a window cleaners as mine usually end up looking worse and more smeary after I'd cleaned them. However, now I've discovered microfibre cloths which you can buy from hardware shops and barely damp, these are excellent for cleaning glass & mirrors. Alternatively, get a rubber blade tool which looks like a windscreen wiper and some soapy water and wipe it crossways, using a cloth to clean into the corners. Try never to clean windows when the sun is shining on them because they always end up smeary.

I use windowlene, give it a good bit of elbow action with a duster and finish off with a microbfibre cloth. A few peeps I know rave about vinegar too, but I've never tried that. Next time I run out of it though there is a mr muscle glass spray I want to try! Also Dettol do an all round spray for glass, surfaces etc etc that I may try too!

I use an old fashioned method - put a dash of vinegar in a bucket of water. Use a clean cloth to clean the window then wipe off with newspaper. Your hands get in a bit of a mess but personally I think you get a better finish, with less smears than some commercial products
I use the same method as emmay35.
Invest in a box of surgical gloves at the chemis (6 for 100) it will save your hands getting in a mess and stop the vinegar drying out your skin.
I use the vinegar and newspaper too, but I get my gloves in the Pound Shop.

thank you all for your window cleaning tips. My wife is so pleased with me !!
Also, this may sound daft but if you wear sun glasses whilst cleaning a window you can immediately see if the smear or mark is on the outside or inside. Vinegar a must!
