Well that was very pleasant - always been a favourite pub.

I first went there over 25 years ago when it didn't even have a bar - you just sat in Audrey's parlour & she fetched the beer from the barrels in the kitchen - food was 'plain or cheese&onion'.

It used to have a sign which said "Dogs welcome in bar - there is a shed in the garden for children" - times have moved on, but it's still a cracking place for a pint.
Glad you enjoyed it dave did you take your wallet lol
I hate to ask, but why play cricket with a hangover, surely a bat made of willow would be better?
Question Author
Yep - there's a pint in the pump for you tony - there until 5pm

:+)
Last time I went to a pub down that way you could have beers out the tap or cider ladled out of a large barrel out back which they wouldn't serve you in larger than half pint glasses, I don't remember leaving that one!

(BTW, don't you hate it when the italics do the &quote thing)
Gawd blimey, I'd better get a move on then, dave.
might be better after the upgrade chuck

I don't allow myself the scrumpy these days ... too many brain cells destroyed per pint ...

Good effort here - cooked an edible tea whilst running at "almost full, top up at regular intervals to avoid sobriety".

Arborio rice rissotto with chicken, leeks, mushrooms and bacon - since you asked, which I'm sure you didn't.

Moved onto the wine now (too full for more beer)

Hic, Burp ...
That sounds very nice, dave.
Lol, did you buy me my glass of wine?? or shall I pop over for a glass lol
Enjoy.
Question Author
I'll buy you one (and lunch) when I'm passing Smow ... planning next bike trip now :+)
