I work in a day nursery and we are doing a christmas party for the children, all of the rooms are putting on different activities for the children however i have no idea at all what to do, all of the other rooms have taken things like a pass the parcel and pin the nose on the snowman but i really wanted something different and original. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know, but please also consider that these children are only three years old so nothing too taxing!! thanks!

sometimes, little ones get over excited and a bit overwhelmed by parties, it might be an idea to have a quiet room, where the children can come and do some christmas themed colouring in. There are plenty of sites you can download larger pictures from so that they are not too fiddly.

How about making a christmas card - you could have some ready cut out shapes and let the children stick these onto prefolded cards and then write their names inside.

Or if you have a bit more time, why not make christingles? The instructions are here: http://www.request.org.uk/infants/festivals/christmas/christingle/christingle.pdf

Could you have a disco/dancing room? A karaoke machine playing poppy songs or children's favourites, and a coloured light thing to make a disco? There is nothing sweeter than 3 year olds having a dance!! Plus they could let off steam and get rid of their energy??

Can i suggest not supplying alcohol at said party and absolutely no Burberry

You don't want a riot on your hands fighting and the wot not.Them bloody young uns will be forming into small groups with god only knows what intent

BE WARNED

why not have a crib and explain a little about the christmas story and then have some cakes, etc to celebrate christ's birthday, bring the true meaning or the reason we have christmas back
