I have used our old digital work camera to take some work related photos, but now can't connect the camera to my own laptop. The software disc was loaded on an old work computer & both disc and computer have been thrown away! Our new work computer does not recognise the camera when they are connected and we can't download the software for the camera on to the computer because 'we do not have administrator privileges'. We normally have to send the computer to head office if we need to install new software on it. I have tried to access software online & download this to my own laptop, but the software wont download! I don't like to be beaten like this, but it looks like I will have to retake the pictures using my own camera. What a pain! Does anybody have any ideas?

Are the pictures saved on the camera's xD card? If so, you should be able to buy (or, beg, borrow or steal) a universal card reader that will enable you to view the photos on your computer.
Do you mean that you can't connect because you don't have an appropriate cable or for some other reason?
Should have said, "... enable you to view or download ..."
