So we now have women boxers having a go at each other! To me boxing is nothing more than ugly brutal macho behaviour, not worthy of being considered a sport, even less one for women. What's your view?

NOX....you are assuming quite a lot..just because a woman is smart and perfumed, doesn,t mean she has " no substance" to her.
Indeed, look at Thatcher. All iron, no soul.
and you assumed Squad that women who were ' feminine' and ' looked after themselves' would never 'deign to enter a boxing ring'- so who's the most presumptious of the two of us would you think?
NOX...show me what I have written that would make you state that.
There you go Squad, your whole post...

\\\ even less one for women. \\\\

There are women and there are woman.

I can think of many who would be "at home" in a boxing ring.....some built for boxing and others that look as though they have been boxing all their lives.

Then there are the "feminine " women, look smart, smell nice and takes care of themselves....these women would never dain to enter a ring.

Horses for courses.

NOX...OK......I did.
Lol- good chap, can I have some of what you've been on please? ;-)
I don't like boxing - I think it's barbaric - but since it is an Olympic sport I'm very pleased to see another Gold come our way. Well done her!
i look after myself, (noone else needs to) and i smell nice, but i think i should have been a contender.....
I always hated boxing. Barbaric sport.....until my cousin took it up and I went to his fights.
I must be asleep.

I read this as women wearing boxers - are there new boy shorts?
it's a great sport, have followed it from early days, never thought to see it become an Olympic sport for women. anyone who watched both Nicola Adams and Katie Taylor who both won gold, couldn't fail to be awed by their commitment and power in the ring, it's no different from watching Taekwondo, which is also very physical, Britain's Jade Jones won gold,
Im really not into sports at all, however I do like to hear about all our medals and support our team. I would sooner watch women boxing than a load of skinny women running in circles around a track, sooooo boring.

Yes there are many rules, but punching with the intention of 'knocking each other out' is in my view not worthy of being being called sport.
