I'm disgusted by his remarks but not really surprised, they will stoop to any level to put down gays and atheists.
I don't understand why 'they' are experts in sexual relationships of whatever nature. To suggest his illness was anything to do with Mr Cairns lifestyle is absolutely vile and beggars belief.

He is clearly questioning the morality of homosexuality, which is fine and dandy if one doesn't agree with it, until one remembers that his church for years has covered up paedophilia in its ranks to a degree that almost smacks of tacit approval.

It's not so much a lack of compassion as a mind-boggling mixture of ignorance, stupidity, and insensitivity.
Ah well, at least he didn't commit suicide, for the Church would not have allowed his burial in their churchyard. They are rightly proud of their compassion in allowing him the Christian burial.

eyethenkyou, I agree. I’m all for freedom of speech too. In this instance it’s demonstrated, yet again, religion’s endorsement of man’s inhumanity to man.
Why have people think you are ignorant when you can open your mouth and prove it?
