i think you will find that a lot of the bands around that time had their names on their bass drum skins.

Obviously The Beatles would have influenced those who had not already copied the trend, but i think in northern clubs, where a different band would play every weekend, it soon made sense for bands to have some non-verbail identification so that people could send the buzz around and get the crowd up for nest time they swung around that way.
Yes andy, but as dotty says, The Beatles' was more of a logo, with the elongated T, as opposed to being just the name daubed on the bass drum. I think she has a point!
Foot note - re MacCartney drumming - he played drums on some White Album tracks too after Starr left for a couple of weeks. Dear Prudence was one.

To get back to the OP, no definitely not a Beatles kids supergroup - terrible notion.
